Luke Appleyard - Something to say

Luke Appleyard

If looking outside in, we had the holiday home in Cyprus, nice house in the nicest parts where we lived, and my mum had a job she loved doing in a fabric shop.

My brother was a championship standard runner and played rugby to a good level.

I could sense the atmosphere at the family home when my birth father and my mum were married. When they separated, I witnessed something, then all things I saw, heard and felt made sense.

The domestic abuse I witnessed and heard. A wooden chair smashed over her head, Phone wired wrapped around my mum’s neck, Black knife put to her throat, Leather belt wiped at her and a toolbox thrown at her.

Played a massive impact as a child seeing and hearing the abuse. We had to move into a safe house, for my mum, me and my brother’s safety.

This was due to the domestic abuse and also my birth father, as he failed to make payments for his work van as he put it against the house.

We found out my birth father’s best friend lived over the road from the safe house, also he worked for the local police.
