I have been teaching sexual education for 7 years to children, parents and teachers. While working with children and adolescents I realised that kids felt a great need to talk not only about sex and bodies but also their feelings, emotions, friendships, and relationships. But mostly felt ignored or misunderstood by their parents and teachers.
When I talked with parents, they recognised the importance of giving kids Sex-Ed but they didn’t feel they were able to do it. Many told me they didn’t know where to begin, they were waiting for kids to bring up the topic, some felt too awkward, ashamed, others had been victims of abuse themselves and couldn’t bring themselves around to talking about sexuality or the body.
So I created an online course called Mindful Sex-Ed for Parents to give parents the courage, knowledge, tools, and skills to answer all the awkward questions about bodies, feelings and sex, as well as the tools to identify and prevent sexual abuse.
