Carly Budd

My name is Carly. I believe that supporting children’s mental and physical well-being and that of parents to do so, is paramount.

The experiences of a child in their early years has a life altering impact on the developing brain and outcomes in adulthood. By educating parents and professionals about the importance of loving, responsive care, connection and playfulness I believe we can make generational change.

I am all too aware that this way of interacting with children isn’t natural to some parents, for a whole host of reasons.

As a child who experienced physical and emotional abuse, but who has also gone on to have a family myself and a successful career as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, spreading this message of love and connection through play – I believe my resilience has come from the fact I was lucky enough to have key stable loving and playful adults in my life.

Not all children have this luxury. We need to do more to support ALL children to have the outcomes in life that they deserve.

Children of today are our future society, therefore investing in our small people WILL have big change.
