When I was 17 years old, I got in a relationship with an individual for over 7 years. When I left him in June 2019, he made things difficult for me and he physically assaulted me in October 2019. 

Since then and to this day, he has refused to leave, sell or pay for our joint property he lives in. This has left myself with poor credit and my home going into repossession.

I did not realise that during my relationship I was going through Domestic Abuse. I only put two and two together when it became physical. Through awareness and education I realised this and decided to take back the control.

I realised there were a lot of things missing in the banking sector, so I entered a competition called Young Banker of the Year Worldwide 2021 with my idea for a Fairer Financial Future for Sufferers and Survivors of Domestic Abuse. I won that competition in October 21 and have started putting my ideas into place.

There is light at the end of that tunnel and things do get better.
