I was sexually abused from the age of 7 till I was 11 by the nanny’s son who was 27 at the time.

I spent a lot of my life hiding this as a shameful secret and that has led to destructive behaviours.

I feel so empowered since I faced this straight on and started to talk about it. I’m not ashamed of what happened to me. 

I like to use it as a teaching moment for others. Listen to your children always. 

Another thing – helping your children heal from this horrific trauma is so important, therapy and counselling is vital in helping them become functioning adults.
