Kaz Scott

Hey, I’m Kaz.

I’m not a survivor, but I am a voice for someone very close to me who is.

She recently told me, “I lost all my confidence when I was 8.”

She didn’t speak about it to anyone until she was in her 30s – after the death of the perpetrator.

There are so many out there who aren’t ready to speak about their experiences, and that’s okay. No one should ever feel guilt or shame because of this.

When we talk about breaking the silence, it’s not on survivors to carry that burden alone.

This is why advocates are so important – whether you’re a parent, a child, a teacher, a friend, or anyone who cares.

I joined the STS team to be a voice for others. I do this for her and for every child who deserves to feel safe, supported, and heard.

I do this because I have a child myself, and no one has the right to take away his confidence, his joy, or his future.

I believe in this mission, in this community. Together, we can really make a difference.
